Friday, April 4, 2008
8:00 - 9:30 PM
Trinidad North Steel Band is a father and son duo. David is a master steelpan builder, tuner, player and arranger. Since 1985, he has built steel orchestra programs through out the United States and has won prestigious awards (Festival of Masters- Disney) for the tonal quality of the drums he builds at his workshop in Media PA. His son Jeremy has been playing drum kit since he was 4. He is a gifted and completely natural drummer with over 12 years of formal percussion study to solidify his technique and develop his musicality. For the past 3 years he has taught his own students!
The duo is extremely tight and plays an amazing variety of songs in the soca, calypso, reggae, rock, poplular, and jazz genre. They have played trade shows, corporate events, the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ, prior to the Jimmy Buffet, Earth Wind and Fire and Chicago concerts this summer (2004), wedding receptions, birthdays, backyard island- themed parties and much more. Their reputation in this art form is well established. They are a first class act in every respect and exceedingly easy to work with.
