Lancaster County Conservancy

The Lancaster County Conservancy has an immediate opening for a fulltime Director of Education & Communications to undertake all aspects of the Conservancy’s efforts to build awareness, understanding and action in the Lancaster County population. The position guides our environmental education, communications, and marketing programs and supports fund raising. The Conservancy’s mission is…“to save and steward the ecosystems and landscapes upon which we depend for food, clean water and air, economic and public health, and the restoration of soul and spirit.”
A bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience in a communications and/or education related discipline is required. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated passion for conservation and nature. The position requires a demonstrated ability to work with various forms of media, overseeing the creation and production of publications such as newsletters and other printed material, web site and other internet communications and marketing, and coordination of programs and activities that engage the public. Strong supervisory skills and a high level of organizational ability, strong writing skills, the ability to communicate ideas succinctly and the ability to work independently are required. Also required is a high level of comfort and skill in interacting with volunteers, donors and friends representing any and all of the organization’s constituent groups.
