Allegheny Power filed its request for corridor designation with DOE March 6, 2006

Route
West Virginia panhandle through southwestern PA, MD and Northern Virginia. PA counties affected:

  • Greene
  • Washington

Additional Information
This corridor designation request was filed to facilitate the creation of a specific 330 mile long line connecting specific existing facilities, including:

  • Wylie Ridge substation
  • Kammer substation
  • Fort Martin-Pruntytown transmission line
  • Pruntytown-Mt. Storm transmission line
  • Mt. Storm-Doubs transmission line
  • Black Oak-Bedington transmission line
  • Doubs substation

The TrAIL transmission line for this area is already in the works.  Allegheny Power has filed for approvals from state commissions in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  See the information on the TrAIL line for additional details.
