U.S. Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee
The U.S. Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee held hearings on July 31st regarding transmission issues. To view a webcast of the proceedings and read testimony of those in attendance, click here.

Senator Casey will be testifying at these hearings. It is not known how many will be scheduled to testify, but other legislators may likewise be able to get an opportunity to testify. Calls today urging those who have taken action opposing NIETC might spur some to also request an opportunity to testify. Visit Opposition of DOE Proposal to learn more.

These hearings were prompted by a bipartisan coalition of 14 senators who say DOE has exceeded its authority in establishing high-priority transmission areas and has infringed on state rights.

U.S. Senator Robert Casey (D-PA) along with thirteen other U.S. senators urged the Energy & Natural Resources Committee to hold hearings regarding the NIETC.
