Legislation Enacted in PA General Assembly



Senate Resolution (SR129)
The Pennsylvania Senate unanimously voted to oppose the designation of the electric tranmission corridor and urged the U.S. Congress to repeal a portion of the 2005 Federal Energy Act which would facilitate electric utility access to federal eminent domain powers and usurp traditional state’s rights regarding electric transmission line siting decisions.

House Resolution (HR297)
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives on 6/12/07 urged the U.S. Congress to repeal a portion of the 2005 Federal Energy Act which would facilitate electric utility access to federal eminent domain powers and usurp traditional state’s rights regarding electric transmission line siting decisions.

HR 297 passed in a vote of 188-11. Legislators who voted against the resolution are as follows:

  • Causer (R-Cameron, McKean)
  • Clymer (R-Bucks)
  • Galloway (D-Bucks)
  • Gerber (D-Montgomery)
  • Godshall (R-Montgomery)
  • Hutchinson(R-Butler, Venango)
  • Micozie (R-Delaware)
  • Millard (R-Columbia)
  • Rapp (R-McKean, Warren)
  • Smith, S (R-Armstrong, Indiana, Jefferson)
  • Stairs (R-Fayette, Westmoreland)

(Absent from voting were Gingrich, Metcalfe and Samuelson.)
