The Land Trust Alliance has confirmed that a 2-year extension of the expanded conservation easement tax incentive is included in the final version of the Farm Bill (H.R. 2419). The house version of the farm bill passed with a large margin (318-106).
The Alliance is quick to point out that this isn’t a victory yet. The legislation must still be passed by the Senate and get signed by the President. The President may well veto the bill (for reasons having nothing to do with the tax incentive) but it appears that both the House and the Senate have enough votes to override the veto.
