In the November 6, 2007 election, open space initiatives were placed on the ballot in 1 county-wide and 3 township elections-- 3 of the 4 passed.

 

Bucks County 
Description:
Bond issue to purchase open space  
Total Funds:

Election Results:
Passed - 74% to 26% 

Heidelberg Township (Lehigh County) 
Description:
Additional .1% earned income tax to purchase open space 
Total Funds:
$1.48 million 
Open Space Funds:
$1.48 million 
Election Results:
Failed - 50.6% to 49.4% 

Plainfield Township (Northampton County) 
Description:
Additional .25% earned income tax to purchase open space, farmland 
Total Funds:
$6 million 
Open Space Funds:
$6 million 
Election Results:
Passed - 60% to 40%

 West Pikeland (Chester County) 
Description:
Additional .25% earned income tax to purchase open space, farmland 
Total Funds:
$11 million

Passed - 61% to 39% 


In the May 15th, 2007 primary, 3 open space measures
were placed on the ballot in three townships -- all 3 passed.


Upper Mount Bethel Township (Northampton)
Description: .25% earned income tax increase for the preservation of open space, farmland, and recreational lands
Total Funds: $5.65 million
Open Space Funds: $5.65 million
Date of Vote: May 15, 2007
Election Results: Passed - 67% to 33%

Milford Township (Bucks)
Description:
Bond issue to purchase open space
Total Funds: $5.0 million
Open Space Funds: $5.0 million
Date of Vote: May 15, 2007
Election Results: Passed - 62% to 38%
Note: Referendum will accompany a .25 of 1% earned income tax increase referendum for open space.  Income tax increase passed (626-506)

Jackson Township (Monroe)
Description:
.25 percent earned income tax increase for the acquisition of open space
Total Funds: $8.0 million
Open Space Funds: $8.0 million
Date of Vote: May 15, 2007
Election Results: Passed - 74% to 26%
