Hollow Oak Land Trust will hold a press event on Friday, March 23 to announce over $300,000 in state and county grants for the Montour Woods Greenway. Attendees will include officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), as well as representatives from Moon Township, Robinson Township, Allegheny Regional Asset District, Montour Trail Council, Forest Grove Sportsmen, and the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce.

The funding includes a $265,800 grant from DCNR and $42,150 in grants from the Allegheny Regional Asset District. The money will be used to construct five bridges along the greenway, which connects vital open spaces including the Montour Trail, Montour Woods Conservation Area, and Moon Township Park.

Hollow Oak invites members, volunteers, and friends to attend the press event. Afterwards, a short walk will demonstrate the trail connection from the Montour Trail to the site of the planned bridge across Montour Run. The event is set for 10 a.m. on March 23 at 1838 Hassam Road in Moon Township.
