On August 23, Lancaster Farmland Trust announced that Michelle Knoll has joined the staff as land preservation assistant. Michelle comes to the Trust with a Bachelors of Science degree from Juniata College and varied experience in the conservation field. She was previously employed by the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary.
As land preservaton assistant, Michelle’s main responsibilities are to perform annual monitoring of conservation easements as well as provide administrative support in the acquisition, maintenance, and monitoring of easements.
Michelle has been interested in environmental causes from a young age. She took her passion for the outdoors and decided to study environmental science in college. Michelle supports farmland preservation because it protects and preserves the value and importance of farmland for future generations.
Originally from southern Chester County, Michelle currently lives in southern Berks County outside of Mohnton with her husband Eric, their dog Daisy, and two cats, Kiki and Leo. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys hiking, camping, and kayaking, as well as thrift shopping and finding a great deal.
