The Pennsylvania Land Trust Association has published new and updated guidance on the protections provided to land trusts, local governments, and other landowners against claims of personal injury and loss of property by people using their land. PALTA developed substantial amendments to Pennsylvania’s Recreational Use of Land and Water Act (RULWA) signed into law by Governor Wolf in late 2018.

PALTA’s new two-page guide, an Overview of Pennsylvania’s Recreational Use of Land and Water Act, provides a concise, easy-to-consume overview of the landowner protections provided by RULWA. Check out the new guide.

PALTA’s update of its five-page Guide to Pennsylvania’s Recreational Use of Land and Water Act (first published in 2011) looks in more detail at the protections provided to landowners who open their property to the public, descriptions of court cases, and the improvements to the law in 2018. Check out the updated guide.

PALTA thanks Debra Wolf Goldstein, Esq., for her donation of services in the preparation of these new and updated guides.
